Israeli Media: UAE Under Pressure to De-escalate Tensions with Iran

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli media outlet i24NEWS has reported that Tel Aviv is closely monitoring developments between Tehran and Abu Dhabi, believing the Strait of Hormuz to be a critical economic lifeline for Abu Dhabi. This economic imperative, the outlet suggests, is pushing the UAE towards de-escalating tensions with Tehran.
The report indicates that initial signs of improving relations between the two sides are observable, including the resumption of flights by Flydubai and Emirates airlines and the use of Iranian airspace after several months of suspension due to heightened military tensions.
The Israeli regime posits that this move is primarily linked to Abu Dhabi’s economic interests. The Strait of Hormuz holds particular significance for Abu Dhabi, serving as a vital economic artery for the Emirates. Consequently, economic interests are motivating the UAE to resume air and trade exchanges and reduce tensions with Tehran.
The report further states that the UAE is simultaneously maintaining its relations with the Israeli regime and the United States. Tel Aviv estimates that Abu Dhabi is striving to strike a precise balance, preserving its security partnership with Israel and the U.S. while reducing the level of confrontation with Iran. The UAE is also observing regional developments, including the defense agreement between Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan.
