China Condemns US Sanctions on Iran, Cites Threat to Global Economic Order

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, China has unequivocally condemned the unilateral and illegal sanctions imposed by the United States on Iran, highlighting their detrimental impact on the international economic system. Liu Chang, spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in Washington, stated that the economic warfare initiated by the U.S. against Iran does not aid in resolving the situation, but rather exacerbates tensions and threatens to weaken the global financial order.
Responding to the inclusion of the Chinese logistics company “Kameng Trading” on the U.S. sanctions list targeting Iran, Liu Chang reiterated China’s consistent stance against such actions. He emphasized that these unilateral sanctions lack any basis in international law or authorization from the United Nations Security Council.
The spokesperson further argued that economic warfare and maximum pressure tactics offer no viable solutions. Instead, they contribute to heightened tensions and risk spillover effects that disrupt the global economic and financial order. These measures, he added, infringe upon the legitimate rights and interests of other nations. China views the immediate priority as facilitating de-escalation of the situation and a swift return to dialogue and negotiation. China has pledged to undertake all necessary efforts to decisively protect its own rights and interests.
