Lebanese President Aoun Warns of Regional and European Instability Amidst Internal Unrest

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, during a meeting with his Greek counterpart in Athens, warned that any unrest in his country would entail widespread negative consequences for the stability of the region and the European continent. He stressed that Lebanon is weary of war and destruction and that the time has come for the nation to find peace and for international agreements to be implemented without selective adherence by either party.

President Aoun reiterated that Lebanon and its people are tired of conflict, stating that negotiations with Israel are aimed at ending the state of enmity, with diplomacy being the sole path to a final resolution rather than war. Following discussions with Konstantinos Tasoulas, his Greek counterpart, Aoun highlighted that Lebanon has reached a framework agreement facilitated by U.S. mediation, which both parties must fully implement without selective actions.

He urged Greece to provide maximum assistance in ensuring the implementation of this agreement, emphasizing the urgent need for Lebanon to achieve calm and stability. Aoun expressed strong determination to end the state of hostility, believing that resolving the crisis is achievable through diplomacy, not warfare. The Lebanese President pointed out that his country’s stability is essential for regional and European stability, warning against any tensions or unrest that could lead to extensive negative outcomes.

Aoun concluded by thanking Greece for its continuous political, humanitarian, and military support for Lebanon and underscored efforts to comprehensively develop bilateral relations for the benefit of mutual interests.
