New York Times Report: US Bomb Struck Sīrīk Wedding Ceremony

Investigations by The New York Times, based on weapon remnants and witness accounts, indicate that the United States was responsible for an airstrike that targeted a wedding ceremony in Sīrīk, southern Iran, resulting in numerous civilian casualties.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, an investigation by the American newspaper The New York Times, analyzing the remnants of munitions used in an attack on a wedding ceremony in Kūh-e Stek, Sīrīk County, suggests that the United States carried out the strike. The attack involved three explosions targeting a wedding ceremony in the town of Kūh-e Stek in southern Iran, leading to the martyrdom and injury of dozens of civilians.

Based on analyses by The New York Times, which relied on images and videos from the attack site and accounts from local residents and officials, the strike, conducted by the United States, hit a building in a residential area where a wedding ceremony was underway.

Trevor Bool, an analyst with the Arms Investigative Service at the newspaper, emphasized that the weapon remnants observed in post-attack images correspond with components of a guided bomb utilized by the U.S. Central Command, which are not part of the Iranian forces’ arsenal.

The American enemy’s attack on a wedding celebration in Kūh-e Stek, located in Sīrīk County, Hormozgan Province, resulted in the martyrdom and injury of over 70 fellow citizens, predominantly women and children.

These brutal war crimes, a blatant violation of the fundamental principles of international law, are reminiscent of previous American-Zionist atrocities over the past year and a half, including those in Minab and Lamerd.

In response to the American military aggression, the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, exercising their inherent right to legitimate self-defense, launched decisive defensive strikes against American military bases that were the origin and support for the American military aggression against Iran’s entity.
