Russia Calls European Peace Claims ‘Empty Rhetoric’

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko told RIA Novosti that statements by European politicians regarding the resolution of the Ukraine conflict and dialogue with Moscow are largely “empty talk” and aimed at creating media hype.
Grushko characterized the actions of European politicians as being directed against Russia. He added that in practice, the European Union’s policy is aligned with the approach of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), with the objective of prolonging the Kyiv conflict to impose a strategic defeat on Moscow.
Relations between Russia and the European Union have become strained since the start of the war in Ukraine. Moscow has accused Brussels of attempting to prolong the war and obstruct peace negotiations.
