In the video, Trump places the word “America” on a sign bearing the name New Mexico and then dances. He claimed that many people suggested this change be made because it looks better. However, the Democratic governor of New Mexico rejected Trump’s latest notion, emphasizing that the name New Mexico was in use before the United States was founded. He stated that Trump is attempting to divert public attention from livelihood issues, including rising fuel prices, through such actions. The U.S. President cannot unilaterally change the name of a state; such a change requires legal procedures. Trump has previously sought to create achievements for himself by advancing notions such as changing the name of the Strait of Hormuz or a lake in Canada.
