US Imposes New Trade Sanctions on Canada Amid Escalating Trade War

The White House has announced a ban on Canadian goods, including dairy and automotive products, set to take effect in three weeks, escalating an ongoing trade dispute between the two North American neighbors.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the White House has issued a statement declaring a prohibition on the import of Canadian commodities such as dairy products, engines, and other goods. This ban on Canadian imports is slated to be implemented in three weeks.

The announcement follows Canada’s declaration yesterday of commencing customs tariffs on American goods valued at $20 billion. In response to these developments, U.S. President Donald Trump took measures against Canadian products concerning government contracts. He directed the U.S. General Services Administration to declare the aforementioned goods as unqualified for participation in these contracts.

Yesterday, the Prime Minister of Canada stated that the country’s strategy in this matter has bolstered its independence.
