Iran’s IRGC Claims Missile Strike on US Warships

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced it conducted a missile attack on two U.S. warships, DDG-119 and DDG-53, citing retaliatory actions against the U.S. Navy’s alleged harassment of Iranian oil tankers.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Public Relations of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a statement, number 14, asserting that Iran‘s Aerospace Force launched a retaliatory operation codenamed “Ya Heydar Karrar” against two U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyers, DDG-119 and DDG-53. The statement claimed that powerful ballistic missiles were used in the attack, which targeted the warships reportedly carrying cruise and Aegis missiles.

The IRGC statement further alleged that significant damage was inflicted upon the vessels as a result of the strike. The action was presented as a response to alleged “aggressive actions” and “malicious interference” by the U.S. military against Iranian oil tankers and vessels.

The IRGC and other armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran reaffirmed their resolve to respond to what they described as “desperate and reckless actions” by the United States government. They warned the enemy against any miscalculations.

The statement concluded with praise for the Iranian nation and martyrs.
