UK Consul in East Jerusalem Faces Closure; London Warns of Consequences

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, The British Foreign Secretary has emphasized that closing the UK’s consulate in East Jerusalem will carry negative consequences. This statement comes amidst escalating tensions between the two nations, following London’s decision to prohibit imports of goods manufactured in Israeli settlements.
The Foreign Secretary further noted that “terrorist settlers are expelling Palestinians from their homes, and the Israeli cabinet is turning a blind eye to these actions.” In a related development, an Israeli official announced that the United Kingdom has been given 30 days to shut down its consulate in occupied Jerusalem.
Yesterday, the Israeli regime announced the closure of the British consulate in Jerusalem and a ban on the entry of 12 British officials into the occupied territories in response to the British government’s decision to ban imports of goods produced in Israeli settlements. In this regard, Gideon Sa’ar, the Israeli Foreign Minister, described Britain’s decision as “foolish” and accused the Labour Party government of “promoting anti-Semitism.”.
