China Proposes Four-Point Plan for New Regional Security Framework

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Chinese Ambassador to Cairo has announced that President Xi Jinping has presented a four-point plan to establish a new security structure in the region. The proposal stresses that nations in the region must take the lead in managing their own affairs, rejecting foreign interference.

The first point of the proposal calls for bolstering internal drivers for common security, asserting that regional nations should maintain control over their destinies. China supports regional dialogue on peace and security to explore avenues for a new Middle East security framework, enabling regional countries to determine their own future. The second point advocates for a comprehensive approach to regional security, acknowledging the interconnectedness of multiple tension hotspots in the Middle East and the need for inclusive solutions. The Palestinian issue is highlighted as a core concern that should not be overlooked.

The third point emphasizes strengthening the foundations of common security through development, linking sustainable peace and stability in the Middle East primarily to developmental progress. China has expressed readiness to cooperate with regional countries in safeguarding international shipping routes, gradually enhancing mutual trust, and addressing the root causes of conflict. The fourth point focuses on reinforcing international coordination for regional security. It posits that the UN Charter and international law should serve as the fundamental principles for addressing Middle Eastern affairs. The proposal urges the international community, particularly external powers, to abandon double standards in their dealings with the Middle East, respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of regional states, and actively support peace and stability in the area.
