Drone Incident Near Zelensky’s Aircraft Reported En Route to Norway

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Norway’s Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre alleged that the airplane transporting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky from Moldova to Oslo, where he was to attend the funeral of the King of Norway, almost collided with a drone. Støre told the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) that the incident underscored the realities President Zelensky lives with.
Støre did not specify the source of his information regarding the alleged drone encounter or the precise distance between the aircraft and the drone. However, Moldovan authorities had previously announced the temporary closure of the country’s airspace following the sighting of a drone. The aircraft carrying President Zelensky was permitted to depart Moldova only after authorities determined that a Russian drone had crashed on Moldovan territory.
Earlier on Tuesday, Moldovan officials reported that two Russian drones had entered the country’s airspace. One drone reportedly crashed in a field north of the capital, igniting a fire. The second drone continued its flight path and entered Romanian airspace.
