Bahraini Shia Leader Sheikh Isa Qassim Refutes Saudi Claims of Yemeni Attack on Mecca

Prominent Bahraini Shia leader Sheikh Isa Qassim has refuted Saudi Arabia’s allegations that Yemen targeted Mecca, emphasizing the Yemeni people’s deep religious devotion and respect for holy sites. The statement comes amid escalating tensions and counter-accusations between Yemen and Saudi Arabia.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Bahraini Shia leader Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim asserted in a social media post that the people and rulers of Yemen are widely recognized for their piety, adherence to religious principles, fear of God, and hope for divine pleasure. These moral qualities, he stated, have been tested at the highest levels in both word and deed.

He added that it is highly improbable for them to commit even the slightest transgression against the sanctity of Mecca and the pure divine sanctuary, which would be in direct contradiction to the esteemed status of this sacred site.

Earlier, Mahdi al-Mashat, the President of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council, stated that the baseless claims by the Saudi regime that Yemen is targeting Mecca are a desperate attempt to mobilize public opinion. He noted that public awareness has reached a level where people understand the true nature of the Saudi regime, a regime that, while squandering the wealth of the Islamic nation, has shown disrespect towards the Kaaba, the Holy Quran, and the two holy mosques.
