France Emphasizes Diplomatic Resolution to Iran Conflict, Strait of Hormuz Opening a Priority

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot emphasized the urgent necessity of reopening the Strait of Hormuz during a meeting with Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi in New York, stating that its closure poses a grave threat to regional stability. Barrot reiterated France‘s commitment to international law and freedom of navigation, while notably omitting any reference to alleged American-Zionist aggressions and provocations in the Persian Gulf. He also asserted that Tehran must return to the path of diplomacy, without acknowledging prior U.S. attacks on Iran during ongoing negotiations. Paris, he stated, is prepared to contribute to current efforts aimed at achieving a political solution as the sole viable means to resolve the conflict and allay existing concerns, particularly regarding Iran’s nuclear program.
