Macron Criticizes Trump’s Approach to Iran, Emphasizes Diplomacy

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, French President Emmanuel Macron stated in an interview with ABC News that France did not engage in a war against Iran as it was deemed an inappropriate course of action. Macron highlighted the importance of utilizing all available means to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, with the objective of reaching an agreement to alleviate pressure on fuel markets, including diesel, jet fuel, and oil and gas.

Addressing a veiled criticism towards Donald Trump, who had previously sought assistance from various countries in reopening the Strait of Hormuz, Macron remarked, “When you want to involve others, you must consult them before inciting war.” He added that Iran had recognized several months prior that it possessed leverage to influence the energy supply chain. Macron expressed his belief that regime change in a country cannot be achieved through bombing.

Macron asserted that preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons is his primary goal and suggested that the United States could resolve this issue. He further commented on the necessity of addressing the implications of a conflict with Iran on trade and commerce.
