North Korea Warns US Over Nuclear Submarine Deal with South Korea

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, North Korea‘s Foreign Ministry has declared that the United States’ approval for the construction of the first nuclear-powered submarine in South Korea represents a perilous escalation, fueling political and military instability across the Asia-Pacific region.

The ministry emphasized that this American consent is another indicator of the US expanding nuclear technology through the AUKUS agreement, asserting that Washington is pursuing an extreme nuclear armament policy that is leading to the collapse of the international nuclear order.

South Korea aims to unveil its own nuclear submarine by the mid-2030s as part of its strategy to counter North Korea.

The agreement to develop a nuclear submarine for South Korea with the United States was finalized through a trade accord signed between the two nations last year.
