Iraq Vows to Prevent Use of Territory Against Neighbors

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaydi emphasized his commitment to preventing the use of Iraqi soil and airspace as a base for any actions that threaten the security of neighboring nations.
Al-Zaydi stated that Iraq is dedicated to ensuring its territory is not utilized for activities that undermine regional stability. He further announced efforts to pass legislation that will place Hashd al-Shaabi forces under the direct command of the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces.
The Iraqi Prime Minister reiterated that addressing the issue of weapons outside of government control will commence seriously from October 1st. He outlined a roadmap for managing unauthorized weapons with a deadline of June 30, 2027.
Al-Zaydi clarified that the decision to wage war or establish peace is the legal prerogative of official authorities, and Iraq insists on prohibiting any military actions that contradict this principle.
Furthermore, the Iraqi Premier indicated that efforts would be made to disarm all non-Iraqi armed groups present within the country’s borders, without naming specific entities.
