Putin Praises Iranian Resilience, Reiterates Uranium Transfer Offer

Russian President Vladimir Putin has lauded the courage and steadfastness of the Iranian people, expressing hope for the lifting of sanctions and the open passage of the Strait of Hormuz, while reaffirming Moscow’s offer to transfer enriched uranium.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated at the annual Valdai International Discussion Club meeting that Moscow’s proposal to transfer Iran’s enriched uranium to Russia remains on the table. Putin highlighted that the entire world is astonished by the courage and resilience of the Iranian nation. He expressed hope for the Strait of Hormuz to remain open and for sanctions against Iran to be lifted.

Regarding tensions with the West, the Russian President noted that military exercises by European countries in the Baltic Sea and attempts to seize Russian ships have been escalatory actions. Putin also warned European governments about the West’s efforts to blockade the Kaliningrad region in the Baltic. He clarified that the Foreign Ministry’s statement regarding the possibility of defending Kaliningrad with nuclear weapons is not a threat, but rather a response to attempts to threaten Russia.

He further asserted that if a direct attack on Russia were to occur, the immediate use of all available weaponry would be unavoidable. Russia would be compelled to utilize its competitive advantages in the event of an assault. The Russian President also cautioned European governments against providing arms to Ukraine, warning that in the event of an escalating conflict, weapons manufacturing plants supporting Ukraine would become targets.
