Medical Helicopter Crashes Off California Coast, Two Dead

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a medical rescue helicopter crashed into the waters near Catalina Island in California on Wednesday evening, claiming the lives of two individuals. Two other people were transported to the hospital, and a search is underway for a missing occupant.
Los Angeles fire officials stated that rescue forces were dispatched to the scene shortly before 8 p.m. Wednesday after receiving a report of the helicopter crash. They successfully recovered four occupants from the water; two of them died at the scene, while the other two were transferred to a hospital in stable condition.
Local authorities indicated that the helicopter crashed shortly after taking off from Catalina Island. The aircraft is located at a depth of approximately 73 meters and about 35 kilometers from the coast of Los Angeles.
The National Transportation Safety Board of the United States has announced that it has launched an investigation into the cause of the helicopter crash. The U.S. Coast Guard, the Los Angeles Fire Department, and sheriff’s deputies are participating in the search and rescue operations.
