Trump Repeats Baseless Claims on Iran’s Military Capabilities

U.S. President Donald Trump has once again asserted that Iran’s military production capabilities have collapsed and that most of its leadership has been eliminated, while also making unfounded claims about the nation’s inflation rate and nuclear program. These statements come amid domestic challenges for the U.S. President.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump has reiterated his unsubstantiated claims regarding Iran’s military strength, asserting that the nation’s ability to produce military hardware has disintegrated and that many Iranian leaders are no longer in power. Trump’s pronouncements, broadcast via Al Jazeera, appear intended to bolster the morale of American military personnel and to alleviate internal political pressures stemming from his own policies.

The U.S. President further alleged, “After most of Iran’s leaders are gone, we don’t know who we are dealing with in Iran.” He continued his assertions by stating, “We are in the midst of a war with a country that we will not allow to acquire nuclear weapons, and we will achieve victory after the elections.”

Without acknowledging the rampant inflation issues affecting fuel prices in his own country, President Trump claimed that Iran’s inflation rate has reached 300 percent and that the country’s currency is in decline. He asserted that Iran’s navy once possessed 159 vessels, all of which have reportedly been sunk. Trump also repeated claims made months prior, stating that Iran’s air force has been completely destroyed, that the country no longer possesses air defense systems, and that only a few remaining missiles can be countered by the United States.

The U.S. President further alleged that Iran was merely three or four weeks away from acquiring nuclear weapons, adding, “If Iran had acquired nuclear weapons, it would have detonated the Middle East, and we had to end this matter by any means.” He concluded by claiming that Iran possesses no radar capabilities and will never possess nuclear weapons.
