Georgian Prime Minister Slams European Parliament as ‘Lies Bureau’

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told reporters on Wednesday that the European Parliament holds no significance, asserting that the institution has recently engaged in nothing but the propagation of lies. He further stated that attempts to politicize judicial proceedings are in direct opposition to the principle of the rule of law.
The Georgian Prime Minister expressed regret that a specific European institution fails to comprehend this, noting their efforts to politically influence court decisions. “They will certainly not succeed, but they completely fail to realize that political interference, particularly in matters related to the activities of the Constitutional Court, is unacceptable,” he added.
A debate is scheduled to take place in the European Parliament today concerning the ‘efforts by the ruling Georgian Dream party to ban opposition parties in Georgia.’ Following these discussions, a critical resolution is expected to be adopted tomorrow.
It is noteworthy that the Constitutional Court of Georgia has previously commenced proceedings on a complaint filed by the ruling ‘Georgian Dream’ party seeking the dissolution of opposition parties.
