Kremlin Sees No Direct Link Between US Diesel Decision and Moscow’s Negotiations

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, based on data published by the Mehr News Agency citing TASS, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov announced today, Tuesday, that Russia will continue to supply competitive products to the global oil market. He stated that there is no direct link between the United States’ decision regarding Russian diesel and Moscow’s position in negotiations.
The Kremlin spokesperson added that European countries, like other nations worldwide, are buyers of Russian oil. He characterized the agreement between Russia and the U.S. on diesel fuel as being in the interest of the U.S., global energy markets, and Russia. Peskov suggested that the European Union’s intention to impose sanctions against Russia in response to the U.S. decision on diesel fuel could hinder the implementation of the agreement between the two countries.
Peskov further commented that Moscow has only seen media reports concerning a peace plan proposed by the U.S. and Europe for resolving the Ukraine conflict.
This comes amidst reports by David Ignatius, a columnist for The Washington Post, citing informed sources, that the U.S. and Europe are developing a joint proposal to settle the war in Ukraine. The Washington Post columnist claimed that the proposed plan has four main axes and is intended to consider the economic and security interests of Ukraine and Russia as a basis for an agreement on territorial issues.
