EU Lawmaker Accuses Western Leaders of Weaponizing Russophobia for Political Gain

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Fernand Kartheiser, Luxembourg’s representative in the European Parliament, told RIA Novosti that some Western leaders are intentionally fostering Russophobia to secure political credibility and advance their agendas, a course of action that he believes carries the risk of serious instability.
Kartheiser noted that in recent months, several Western officials have repeatedly accused Russia of orchestrating coordinated actions against Western governments, often without providing substantial evidence to support these claims.
The Luxembourgish representative further elaborated that Russophobia can serve as a tool to legitimize political decisions and objectives of Western leaders, in addition to influencing public opinion.
This stance aligns with previous criticisms voiced by the European Parliament member regarding the European Union‘s policy toward Russia. He had previously emphasized the importance of resuming political dialogue between Brussels and Moscow.
