Russia Reports Downing Over 600 Ukrainian Drones

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia’s Ministry of Defense has announced the successful interception and destruction of dozens of Ukrainian drones over Russian territory. The ministry reported that air defense units neutralized 644 Ukrainian drones during the past night across several regions, including Bryansk, Vologda, Volgograd, and Voronezh.
This development occurs in the context of ongoing geopolitical tensions. On February 21, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin recognized the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics in the Donbas region, citing Western disregard for Moscow’s security concerns. Subsequently, on February 24, 2022, President Putin initiated a military operation, termed a “special operation,” against Ukraine, escalating the strained relations between Moscow and Kyiv into armed conflict.
In response to Russia’s actions, the United States and Western nations have imposed extensive sanctions on Moscow and provided billions of dollars in military equipment and armaments to Kyiv.
