Guardian Questions European Double Standards on Russia Sanctions vs. Israel

The Guardian newspaper has reported that European governments have taken no substantive action to halt the ongoing events in Gaza, drawing a stark contrast between their sanctions against Russia and their continued normal relations with Israel. This inaction has raised questions about Europe’s commitment to human rights and its global credibility.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, The Guardian newspaper in the UK has reported that European governments have effectively taken no action to stop the ongoing events in Gaza. They have neither halted arms sales to the Israeli regime nor imposed trade restrictions against it.

The report indicates that Europe’s failure to hold the Israeli regime’s cabinet accountable has undermined these countries’ global credibility and influence. While the European Union has imposed sanctions on Russia due to the Ukraine war, it continues to maintain normal relations with the Israeli regime.

The report states: “This trend reflects double standards in European countries and a false commitment to human rights. Police violence against supporters of Palestine has become commonplace in these countries, despite them merely exercising their right to freedom of expression. The Palestinian issue has, after three years, become a real test of European democracy.”
