North Korea Successfully Tests New Underwater Weapon System

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, North Korea‘s state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on Saturday the successful underwater test of a new weapon system that includes high-speed, guided torpedoes. This test is considered a crucial step in bolstering North Korea’s naval power.
The report confirmed the positive performance of the propulsion technology, which has been developed over the past five years through more than 180 trials. Additionally, artificial intelligence technology was utilized in target tracking and guidance operations during the test.
This development follows another announcement on Thursday, where KCNA reported that Pyongyang had tested two types of submarine-launched strategic cruise missiles off its eastern coast. The purpose of that test was to assess the reliability of its war deterrence tools and enhance the navy’s proficiency in strategic missions.
