Qatar and France Back Diplomatic Efforts to De-escalate Regional Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Qatar and France have issued a joint statement expressing their backing for diplomatic efforts to achieve a lasting solution that they claim will address Iran’s persistent regional threats. The two nations, without condemning Israeli and American attacks on Iran, asserted that Iran’s military actions against regional countries are condemned and constitute a serious violation of international law.
Furthermore, Qatar and France called for the restoration of freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz without any restrictions or tolls, announcing their support for initiatives to achieve this objective. The statement indicated that both countries have agreed to coordinate their diplomatic efforts to manage tensions and reduce provocability in light of existing regional challenges.
In another section of their statement, Qatar and France declared their opposition to any annexation of the West Bank and demanded an end to the Israeli settlement policy and settler violence. The two countries also emphasized the necessity for all parties to adhere to their commitments regarding Gaza, including Israeli withdrawal and the reception of humanitarian aid.
Concluding their statement, Qatar and France announced that Doha and Paris are committed to supporting Lebanon’s stability and sovereignty, ensuring that the end of the UNIFIL mission does not lead to a security vacuum in southern Lebanon.
