Russia-U.S. Diesel Deal Set to Commence Tomorrow, Boosting Global Markets

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Kirill Dmitriev, the special envoy of the Russian President for economic affairs, stated that Friday marks the commencement date for the diesel agreement between Moscow and Washington. He added that the implementation of this accord is anticipated to trigger positive developments in the global markets.
The presidents of Russia and the United States reached an agreement on October 9, 2026, regarding the supply of Russian diesel fuel to international markets. This agreement aims to address volatility in global fuel prices.
The U.S. Department of the Treasury has issued a general license permitting the purchase of Russian diesel fuel until April 7 of the following year. These actions by the United States are being taken to manage the surge in fuel prices on world markets, attributed to disruptions in shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz and the ongoing conflict impacting Iran.
