US Lawmaker Warns of Potential Year-Long Standoff with Iran

A United States representative has suggested that the U.S. could face a year-long stalemate with Iran, without a nuclear deal or unimpeded passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, United States Representative Mike Waltz stated that the U.S. may find itself in a stalemate with Iran for another year, with no agreement reached on Iran’s nuclear program and ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz not returning to pre-conflict levels. Waltz indicated that the United States is preparing for the possibility of continued confrontation with Iran for an additional year. The U.S. official acknowledged that Washington will not consider its strategic objectives achieved until the issue of Iran’s high-enriched nuclear material stockpiles is resolved and a genuine agreement is reached to limit uranium enrichment within Iran.
