Israel’s War Minister Slams Eisenkot’s Stance on Iran Issue

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israel‘s War Minister Yisrael Katz has launched a strong criticism against Gadi Eisenkot, the head of the “Yesh Atid” party and a primary rival to Benjamin Netanyahu in the Knesset elections. Katz declared that the Israeli army is prepared to implement any decision concerning Iran.
The report further stated that Katz described Gadi Eisenkot’s call for security officials to resist political pressures as an “undemocratic and unrealistic” action.
The Israeli War Minister rejected any notion of a rift between the military and political echelons of the regime regarding Iran, emphasizing that the army actively participates in all discussions and consultations related to Iran and will execute any directive in this domain.
He also clarified that Eisenkot’s invitation to senior military commanders to defy orders from the Prime Minister, War Minister, and legitimate security bodies are “undemocratic and unrealistic” statements, assessed as part of a “false campaign” he and his coalition had initiated regarding disagreements between military and political levels on confronting Iran.
This strong stance was expressed after Eisenkot, in his speech following the initial election results, referred to Benjamin Netanyahu as the Prime Minister of an interim government and urged security officials to maintain their decision-making independence when facing any pressure.
