German Chancellor Acknowledges Heavy Costs of War Against Iran on Europe

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has admitted that the war against Iran has imposed over 100 billion euros in costs on Europe over the past eight months, primarily driven by soaring energy prices.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz acknowledged that in the wake of the past eight months, warmongering against Iran has inflicted more than 100 billion euros in financial burdens on Europe, with the lion’s share attributed to escalating energy costs.

Merz’s remarks regarding the invitation of warring parties to pursue diplomacy for dispute resolution come at a time when Berlin previously adopted a hostile stance toward the aggression orchestrated by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran. Now, as the profound repercussions surface and spill over into Europe, Germany is attempting to project a peace-seeking role.

In a related development, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul called yesterday for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Yemen and Ukraine, alongside the initiation of diplomatic negotiations with Iran.

In his statements, he claimed that Iran must return to the negotiating table, Yemeni forces must halt their operations, and Russia must bring an end to its escalating aggressive actions.
