ElBaradei Warns of Escalating Islamophobia and Global Polarization

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Mohamed ElBaradei, former Vice President of Egypt and former Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, has expressed grave concern regarding the intensification of anti-Islam and anti-Muslim policies across the United States and Europe, pointing to their increasing exploitation in electoral campaigns and immigration politics.
In a statement published on the social media platform X, ElBaradei emphasized that targeting two billion Muslims with unprecedented and derogatory language is not merely a hateful act, but a direct pathway toward severe global polarization, the erosion of social cohesion, and the outbreak of violence. He further lamented that society repeatedly fails to learn from historical precedents.
ElBaradei’s remarks come amid discriminatory political attacks directed against Abdulrahman El-Sayed, a Democratic candidate in the U.S. state of Michigan. Political analysts note that these targeted campaigns aim to portray El-Sayed as un-American and unfit for public office, unfolding against the backdrop of critical legislative elections that could determine the balance of power in the United States Senate.
