Yemeni Forces Advance Near Aden and Secure Strategic Al-Maqatarah Heights

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Yemeni forces have advanced to within approximately 80 kilometers of the southern city of Aden, representing the most significant territorial push toward the urban center since 2015, military sources report.
The operation in the mountainous Al-Maqatarah region commenced three days ago, culminating in Yemeni fighters securing full control over the area. This high-altitude terrain overlooks the primary supply and transit route connecting Taiz to Aden, serving as a critical corridor linking key territories.
Following their retreat from these heights, opposing forces withdrew toward the Tur al-Bahhah district. Military analysts note that this strategic advance enables Yemeni forces to exert tactical pressure from two flanks along the mountain ranges overlooking the vital Bab el-Mandeb strait, given the area’s decisive role in dominating regional ground supply lines and military positioning.
