Amid the ongoing midterm congressional elections on Tuesday night local time, US President Donald Trump addressed potential scenarios regarding the opposition party seizing control of Congress next year during an interview with CBS News, while emphasizing his executive authority.

The President of the United States declared that if Democrats capture majorities in the Senate or the House of Representatives, he is entirely ready to reject their bills and will gladly accept the title of Mr. Veto regarding their policies.

Expressing confidence in advancing his agenda over the next two years regardless of the future composition of Congress, Trump stated that if the rival faction attempts to limit his powers, he will expand the scope of his executive tools.

The US chief executive also noted that newly issued rulings and procedures from the Supreme Court have reinforced the authority of his administration to exercise broader governance within the federal apparatus, assessing that even potential congressional roadblocks will leave the administration’s hands free to act.
