According to the regional office of Tasnim news agency, “Askar Jalalian”, Vice President of International Affairs of the Ministry of Justice of Iran, during a trip to Kabul, emphasized on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the judicial field and providing more facilities for the transfer of eligible prisoners.
Askar Jalalian Acknowledging that the consent of the prisoners is a necessary condition for transferring them to their own country, he confirmed that Tehran and Kabul have reached an understanding regarding the transfer of eligible prisoners to Afghanistan.
Askar Jalalian added : “It was decided to provide the grounds for the immediate transfer of a few Iranian prisoners to the country as soon as possible.” They do not want to be returned to their own country.
The deputy of international affairs of the Ministry of Justice of Iran also clarified: until the Afghan prisoners declare their desire to be transferred to the country in writing. No action will be taken to transfer them.
