A new opportunity for the presence of more Iranian goods in the Afghan market
The director general of industry, mining and trade of South Khorasan said that the decrease in Pakistan's exports to Afghanistan is a good opportunity for Iran to take a greater share in the country's market. |
According to the regional office report of Tasnim News Agency
, “Javad Zwanat”, the governor of South Khorasan, at the celebration ceremony of selected exporters of this province, stated that efforts are being made to open the “Mahirud” border crossing with Afghanistan around the clock.
Ahmed Ariafar, Director General of Industry, Mining and Trade of South Khorasan, also considered Afghanistan as a country with good capacity for Iran’s services.
He pointed to Iran’s opportunity to participate more in the Afghan market and said: Exports from Pakistan to Afghanistan are limited, but this is an opportunity for South Khorasan province, because Afghanistan is a virgin country for the technical and engineering services capacity of our province.
According to the provincial officials, the main exports of South Khorasan to Afghanistan are construction materials and food.
Mahirud border crossing or border point Mil 78 is a border crossing between Iran and Afghanistan (Birjand and Farah).
