Continuation of Israel’s internal disputes about the exchange of prisoners
The differences between the Israeli authorities over the agreement with Hamas and the exchange of prisoners still remain, and in the latest case, the head of the Knesset's internal security committee has joined the group of opponents of the agreement. |
According to the report of Fars News Agency International Group, Zvika Fogel, head of the Internal Security Commission in the Knesset [Parliament] of Israel, opposed the prisoner exchange agreement and said that the agreement is according to the terms of Hamas.
Disagreements among Israeli officials over the prisoner exchange agreement while this regime’s cabinet is waiting for Hamas’s official response to the provisions of the Paris meeting plan for a cease-fire and prisoner exchange, although “Osame Hamdan A senior member of Hamas has said that the Palestinian resistance movement only accepts a permanent ceasefire. Israel’s left parties knew and said: “Yahya Senwar’s terms are accepted by Israel’s left parties.” He added: “There is no reason to agree.” We are the stronger and victorious side. We determine the conditions… Acceptance of Sanwar’s conditions means the end of the war. His daughter, granddaughter or son will be kidnapped again by those who are released. The future of Israel’s existence will be in danger if we do not defeat the enemy.
Earlier, Yair Lapid, the head of the opposition of the Zionist regime’s cabinet, called for Netanyahu’s resignation, an end to the war, and the exchange of prisoners for freedom. The Israeli military had left Gaza. However, neither Hamas nor Netanyahu’s cabinet have yet expressed their official position regarding the contents of the Paris meeting plan, although the occupying regime’s officials are under intense pressure from public opinion. The public and the families of Israeli prisoners are with Hamas. In this regard, on Thursday evening (February 1) and at the same time as the meeting of the war cabinet to review the proposed prisoner exchange plan, the families of Israeli prisoners started a demonstration in front of the headquarters of the Ministry of War and demanded the immediate signing of the prisoner exchange agreement for the release of their family members in Gaza.
The negotiators of Israel, America, Egypt and Qatar reached an agreement last Sunday (8th of February) in Paris on a framework to stop the war and release other Israeli prisoners held by Hamas. An agreement that has been welcomed by America.
