Pakistan stated in a statement: “Asif Durrani”, the country’s special representative for Afghanistan affairs, will participate in the Doha meeting on Afghanistan at the head of a delegation.
The statement added: In this meeting, it is part of Pakistan’s effort to actively interact with the international community, including the United Nations, as well as strengthen efforts for peace and sustainable prosperity in Afghanistan.
The second Doha meeting about Afghanistan will be hosted by “Antonio Guterres” as the Secretary General of the United Nations on the 29th and 30th of Bahman in the capital of Qatar. The international community will discuss and discuss with Afghanistan.
In this meeting, the special representatives of the countries will consider the proposals of the “Afghanistan independent assessment report” based on the UN Security Council resolution. And they are also discussing the appointment of a UN special representative for Afghanistan.
The Doha meeting for Afghanistan is going to be held by inviting the Taliban government while the list of representatives of countries and international organizations in this meeting has not been finalized yet.
Previously, Roza Otunbaeva, head of the UN delegation in Kabul, during a meeting with Amir Khan Motaghi, the foreign minister of the Taliban government, once again demanded the presence of the current Kabul government in the Qatar meeting.
Taliban Foreign Minister had emphasized in this meeting that Afghanistan will decide on its participation after the composition and agenda of the Doha meeting are clarified.
