reported by Mehr News Agency quoted by Sputnik, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov arrived in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, on Tuesday, continuing his trip to Latin American countries.
On Monday, the Russian Foreign Minister arrived in Havana, the capital of Cuba, to meet with senior officials of the Cuban government. During this visit, Lavrov met and talked with the Cuban Foreign Minister and the Cuban President.
Last Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia published a statement announcing that Sergey Lavrov will travel to America next week. In this statement, it is stated that Lavrov will leave for Cuba on February 19, and during this trip, he is going to meet and talk with the Cuban president and foreign minister.
As stated in this statement, Lavrov will travel to Venezuela on February 20 after visiting Cuba; A conversation with the President of Venezuela and meetings at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are on the agenda of this trip.
On February 21-22, the Russian Foreign Minister will also participate in the G20 foreign ministers’ meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
