America exports poisoned rice to Haiti

According to this study, the average concentration of arsenic and cadmium in rice imported from the United States was almost twice as high as that of rice grown in Haiti, and the amount of these heavy substances In some imported samples, they exceeded the international limit.

This study showed that in almost all the samples of imported rice, the amount of toxic substances was higher than the permitted amount declared by the Food and Drug Organization for children’s consumption.

Haiti, along with Mexico and Japan, is one of the major buyers of American rice, and importing cheap rice is more economical than domestic production in this poor country.
