In continuation of efforts to reduce tensions and stop the war in Ukraine, China's special representative is traveling to Russia and European countries.

reported by Mehr News Agency quoted by Rashatudi, the Chinese Foreign Ministry announced today Wednesday that Li Hui, China’s special representative for Eurasian affairs, will soon travel to Russia, Ukraine and some European countries for the political solution of the Ukraine crisis.

Li Hui traveled to Ukraine, Russia and European countries at the end of May this year in order to investigate the possibility of resolving the Ukraine crisis. Beijing announced the purpose of this trip to develop and expand negotiations in order to reach a “political agreement for the Ukraine crisis”.

Russia has welcomed China’s efforts towards peace and some European countries, including Hungary, have had a similar reaction to these actions.

However, China’s peace plan has also faced criticism from the West, and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has claimed that since Beijing refrains from condemning Russia’s actions In Ukraine, he refused, and as a result, he lacks the necessary “credibility” to mediate. Joseph Burrell, the European Union’s foreign policy official, also emphasized that “the only thing that can be called a peace plan is Zelensky’s proposal.”

The President of Ukraine demanded that Russia withdraw from the territories that Kiev claims. Zelensky also demanded compensation from Russia and claimed that this country should be tried in international courts. Rejecting this proposal, the Kremlin has claimed that it does not take into account the “realities on the ground”, including the annexation of four new regions to Russia.
