French writer: America enables mass killing in Gaza

A French writer blamed America for killing the people of Gaza and asked the European Union to put pressure on the Zionist regime to stop the war against the people of Gaza.

reported by Mehr News Agency According to the Guardian, “Alexander Horst”, a French writer and a member of the Institute of Political Studies in Paris, announced by publishing a report that Europe can push America to change its stance against Gaza.

The French writer wrote: The EU’s influence on Netanyahu is limited, but it could pressure Joe Biden, who is electorally vulnerable, to stop the war. In Gaza, America is insisting on an increasingly horrific practice. But, as in the case of Ukraine, the EU can act alone, and may even be able to force the Biden administration to change its strategy, which has completely failed to protect civilian lives.

He further added: The Israeli government tells the people of Gaza to flee and then bombards the places they flee to, these airstrikes cause the death of more civilians, even more than the US. It was done during the capture of Raqqa in Syria from ISIS. At a faster rate than any other conflict in the 21st century, these attacks are killing children, doctors and journalists, and blocking all but a very small amount of aid.

Netanyahu has announced that he will continue the war in Rafah, where 1.5 million suffering refugees are concentrated, and has made clear his plan for long-term permanent control of the Strip. Gaza announced.

The EU must now publicly put all its levers on the table to stop him and end the war. However, what can it do? What leverage does Europe have that America does not have? Although pressure has increased after last week’s incident in which at least 110 Palestinians were killed while waiting for humanitarian aid, this leverage is limited.

By taking a much stronger stance against the war, the EU might be able to push Biden to do more than denounce Netanyahu. The first thing that the European Union can do is in the field of trade because the European Union is Israel’s largest trading partner and is responsible for approximately 30% of international trade with it.

Last month, Ireland and Spain asked the EU Commission to suspend the EU-Israel trade deal if it violates human rights obligations set out in the agreement. Next, the European Union could impose the same kind of sanctions and travel bans on violent West Bank settlers that the United States, Britain, and France recently adopted, and it should go even further, and based on the ruling of the International Court of Justice, politicians like Itamar Benguir, Sanction Bezalel Smotrich and others – including Netanyahu himself.
