Cyber attack on French government service bases
The Prime Minister of France announced the cyber attack on the country's government service bases. |
The office of French Prime Minister Gabriel Atal revealed in a statement on Monday that a number of government service websites were targeted by a cyber attack of “unprecedented severity”.
The statement said: “At this point when this statement is issued, the impact of these attacks has been mitigated for most services and access to government sites has been restored.”
This office added: A crisis unit was immediately activated on Sunday evening in order to “deploy countermeasures and ensure the continuity of information technology services”.
Earlier, a pro-Russian hacker group calling itself “Anonymous” attacked the website of the French Senate and temporarily disabled its access.
No person or group has yet claimed responsibility for this attack.
It is possible that French President Emmanuel Macron’s proposal to send troops to Ukraine is related to these attacks.
