report Mehr News Agency, according to Reuters, nearly one billion people in India will be eligible to vote in the country’s parliamentary elections.
Elections in India are scheduled to be held in approximately seven weeks from April 19. In this election, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will seek his third consecutive victory and stay in power.
Electoral competitions in India for 543 seats in the Indian Parliament will continue until June 4. It is said that more than 2,400 political parties will present their candidates in this election.
Approximately 970 million Indians will cast their votes in more than one million polling stations across the country. The Election Commission of India will employ nearly 15 million government employees to help conduct the elections.
Vote counting and election results will be on June 4 and the entire election process will be completed by June 6.
