The World Health Organization asked the Zionist regime not to attack Rafah
The Director General of the World Health Organization asked the Zionist regime to refrain from launching an attack on Rafah, located in the south of the Gaza Strip, "for the sake of humanity". |
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General of the World Health Organization, wrote on his user account on the X platform: “I am deeply concerned by the reports of Israel’s plan to launch a ground attack on Rafah, the re-intensification of violence in this densely populated area. It will lead to more people and more suffering and problems.”
He asked the Zionist regime to refrain from implementing its plan and starting the attack on Rafah “for the sake of humanity” and to try to establish peace.
The Director General of the World Health Organization further emphasized: “The evacuation operation that the Israeli army plans to carry out before this attack is not a possible solution.”
He also said: 1.2 million residents of Rafah do not have a safe place to go, health centers are not fully operational, and there is no safe place anywhere else in Gaza that they can go to.
This UN official continued: Many people there are physically weakened, hungry and sick, who cannot afford to move again.
