United Nations: Attacks on peacekeeping forces are unacceptable
The UN Ceasefire Monitoring Organization condemned the attack on the peacekeeping forces in Lebanon. |
The Zionist regime has crossed all the red lines in its new wave of brutality in the region and is openly committing genocide against the Palestinians. In the meantime, this regime considers all civilian goals as legitimate. Targeting UN peacekeepers known as UNIFIL in southern Lebanon is considered part of these legitimate goals by the Zionists.
According to Al Jazeera, the United Nations Truce Monitoring Organization (UNTSO) today (Saturday) condemned the attack on the peacekeepers of this international organization in southern Lebanon.
In the statement released by this group after 3 UNIFIL soldiers and a Lebanese translator were injured in the Israeli attack, it is stated: Targeting the peacekeepers is an unacceptable act.
This statement adds: All parties involved in this conflict are committed under international law to avoid targeting civilians, including peacekeepers, journalists, medical personnel, and innocent citizens.
Referring to the high number of civilian casualties in the Gaza war, which has now reached 33,000, the UN Ceasefire Monitoring Organization emphasizes: We once again reiterate our request to all parties to stop the current conflict. We do this to prevent unnecessary harm to more people.
The United Nations has so far avoided blaming Israel for the attack on the UNIFIL forces, but the official Lebanese News Agency (NNA) blamed the Israeli army for the attack.
