The possibility of a ceasefire agreement and exchange of prisoners between Hamas and the Zionist regime
Egyptian sources on Monday released details of the proposed US agreement to release prisoners in Gaza. |
According to this proposal, which is under consideration by Hamas and the Zionist regime, a six-week temporary ceasefire will begin on the day of Eid al-Fitr, during which 40 Zionist prisoners will be released.
According to these sources, this proposal does not include a commitment to a permanent ceasefire.
Hamas previously emphasized that the existence of a commitment to a “permanent ceasefire” is mandatory in any agreement and is not negotiable.
The Zionist regime also rejected this issue and some other requests of Hamas, claiming that these requests are “illusory”.
Negotiators are also considering a three-day non-committal ceasefire during Eid al-Fitr.
