US spokespersons: If Iran wants a ceasefire in Gaza, it should put pressure on Hamas

The spokesmen of the White House and the US State Department claimed that Iran should pressure Hamas to accept the agreement following the successive failures of negotiations to reach a ceasefire agreement.

The spokesmen of the White House and the US State Department, following Washington’s support for Israel and the successive failures of negotiations to reach a cease-fire agreement in Gaza and the non-implementation of the Security Council’s resolution, claimed: If Iran wants a fire in Gaza, it should be given to Hamas. put pressure on the table to accept the agreement.

The reporter asked the US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller at the press conference: Iranian officials have threatened to take revenge on Israel and Israel has ordered its forces to prepare for an Iranian attack. Are you worried about the region flaming as a result of this attack?

Miller replied: “Since October 7 (2023), we have been concerned about increasing tensions in the region and have tried to reduce these tensions by repeatedly relying on diplomacy.” We have clearly asked Iran not to use this incident as an excuse to attack American positions and forces, and we again ask them not to take any action that causes tension.”

Another reporter asked: Some reports indicate that the target of Iran’s attack is Israel itself. Are these reports accurate?

The spokesperson of the US State Department replied: We have clearly stated to Iran that they should not take any action that causes tension either inside Israel or in any other region.

Another reporter also asked: Some reports indicate that if a ceasefire is established in Gaza, Iran will not attack Israel. Are these reports accurate?

The spokesperson of the US Foreign Ministry rejected this report and said: “These reports are not accurate and are not true. Iran has not sent a message to America in this regard. But if Iran wants a ceasefire in Gaza, it can achieve this goal because it has supported Hamas for a long time. Iran can pressure Hamas to accept the agreement that is on the table

This reporter further asked: The European Union has canceled the sanctions on “Aber Arvan” company. Is America also planning to cancel its sanctions against this company?

Miller answered: Our position is clear. “Aber Arvan” company is “the key agent of the Iranian regime to cut off the access of the Iranian people to the global Internet.”

The spokesperson of the US State Department continued: “Abar Arvan company has close relations with the Ministry of Intelligence and Security of Iran.” The current managers of this company are the current or former officials of the Ministry of Information and Security of Iran; Therefore, this company is still sanctioned by the United States and these sanctions will remain. This decision is related to the European Union itself.”

At the same time, “John Kirby”, the spokesman and coordinator of strategic communications of the White House Security Council, also said on Monday local time in a telephone meeting with reporters in Washington about some alleged reports that Tehran will not retaliate in case of a ceasefire. I have no comment on the report it claims. I refuse to answer, and frankly, if Iran wants a ceasefire in Gaza, it should use all the means at its disposal to put pressure on Hamas to accept the deal that is on the table.”

The strategic communications coordinator of the US National Security Council claimed: “If the Iranians really want this, we want to see them start putting pressure on Hamas.” This is the best result to achieve a ceasefire.”

“We want a ceasefire that frees the women, the wounded, the sick, and the elderly, and that’s really our focus,” Kirby claimed. If they are honest and serious about the cease-fire, they should use the influence they have on Hamas to press for a positive response to the Day of Meez proposal.

The strategic communications coordinator of the White House National Security Council said about Iran’s possible attack on Israel in retaliation for Tel Aviv’s attack on Tehran’s consulate in Damascus and the martyrdom of 2 Iranian military advisers and 5 officers accompanying them: “Iran has made very public threats against Israel. And one of the things that the President of the United States said in his call with Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, was that the Israeli government can count on the support of the United States for any need to defend itself against Iran’s direct threats against Israel.

Kirbi continued: “Not only our forces, but also our diplomatic forces are constantly under threat in Iraq and Syria, and we take this issue seriously; Therefore, we are taking appropriate protective measures and based on the changes, we have the appropriate type of response ready, and this position has not and will not change. We take the threat against our people seriously and we know that those groups that carry out such attacks are supported, equipped and financed by the IRGC.

The White House National Security Council strategic communications coordinator stated: The CIA chief was in Cairo to conduct “a serious round of negotiations”. At the end of yesterday’s talks in Cairo, a plan was presented to Hamas, the response to which will require several days.

Kirbi clarified: US President Joe Biden, in addition to asking the Israeli Prime Minister in his call last week, to strengthen negotiations and reach a ceasefire agreement, sent letters to the Emir of Qatar and the President of Egypt to ask them to “Pressure Hamas to implement the agreement.”
