Condemnation of the Zionist regime in the Security Council meeting regarding the attack on the Iranian consulate

The attack of the Zionist regime’s fighters on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, the capital of Syria, which was accompanied by the martyrdom of a number of IRGC military advisors, made Israel face international condemnation. Meanwhile, Tehran demanded a meeting of the Security Council to investigate this issue.

According to Al Jazeera, the meeting of the UN Security Council regarding the attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria has started.

In this meeting, the representative of Russia condemned this attack and announced: From Moscow’s point of view, attacking diplomatic delegations is unacceptable. We are witnessing the continuation of Israeli attacks deep into Syrian territory. Russia strongly condemns these attacks.

He noted: We can never approve the attack on diplomatic centers, because this could happen against our embassies in the future.

The representative of China also said in this meeting: Beijing condemns the Israeli air attack on the Iranian consulate. Since the beginning of the Gaza war, we have seen the red lines of international relations being crossed several times. Israel’s latest action is a clear violation of the 1968 Vienna Convention.

The representative of Switzerland, like other members of the Security Council, condemned this attack and stated: We must seek to reduce tensions in the region. Attacking the Iranian consulate is unacceptable. Resolution 2728 of the Security Council, which called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, should be implemented immediately.

The representative of Algeria said in this regard: such actions of Israel, which are a clear violation of international laws, cannot be justified and tolerated. We condole the death of a number of Iranians in this attack.

Slovenia’s representative is one of the other non-permanent members of the Security Council who condemned the attack on the Iranian consulate.

The American representative in the Security Council said: We had no role in the attack on the Iranian consulate and we announced this to Iran as well. Since October 7, we have repeatedly warned Iran not to stand by its proxies. Iran regularly supports Hezbollah, Houthis and Iraqi groups, and these groups regularly attack American interests.

He added: It is clear that the parties from Iran and Syria want to withdraw their support from proxy groups. We consider the attack on diplomatic places a cause for concern and we are also concerned about Iran’s regional actions.

Zahra Ershadi, the ambassador and deputy permanent representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations, at the meeting of the Security Council regarding the “threat to international peace and security”, expressed and emphasized her words regarding the crime of the Zionist regime and the invasion of Iran’s diplomatic headquarters in Damascus. : The Security Council must fulfill its duties against the defiance of the Zionist regime.

He added: Israel has violated the sovereignty of Syria and violated the immunity of the consulate. This is a terrorist attack.

Iran’s representative in the Security Council emphasized: America is responsible for all Israel’s actions. England and America are falsely hiding their role in regional events. The root of the suffering of the Palestinian people in the last 70 years is British colonialism. America is also a political, military and economic supporter of Israel.

Mohammad Khaled Al-Khiari, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations for the West Asia, Asia and the Pacific Affairs, said at the Security Council meeting about the Israeli regime’s attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria: the immunity of diplomatic and consular places and personnel must be respected in all cases in accordance with international laws.
