Euronews news network added by publishing this news: In the voting that took place on Tuesday morning (today local time), Metsula was able to get 562 votes out of 623 votes and will be the leader of the parliament for the next two and a half years. Europe will take over with 720 seats.
Metsola, 45 years old, assumed this position for the first time in January 2022 following the sudden death of Italian politician David Sasoli.
He held the first meeting of the European Parliament with the new representatives in Strasbourg, France.
