Kremlin: Change in Russia’s nuclear doctrine was necessary

The spokesperson of the Russian presidency explained the necessity of changing the nuclear doctrine of this country.

According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency quoted by Tass, “Dimitri Pskov” the spokesman of the Russian presidency commented on the new changes in Russia’s nuclear doctrine did.

The Kremlin spokesman announced on Tuesday that new amendments were made to Russia’s nuclear doctrine to adapt it to the realities of today’s world.

Peskov emphasized that the changes were made to accommodate Russia’s doctrine and ensure the alignment of Russia’s views. It was necessary to use nuclear weapons with today’s realities.

The spokesman of the Russian presidency told reporters: aggression against Russia by any non-nuclear country E, with the involvement or support of a nuclear country, is considered as their joint attack, and this is also a very important clause in Russia’s nuclear doctrine.

Simultaneously with Washington’s decision to authorize Ukraine to use American long-range missiles to strike deep into Russian territory, President Vladimir Putin approved and signed an updated version of Moscow’s nuclear doctrine.

According to this doctrine, if Russia is targeted by a missile attack with conventional weapons backed by a nuclear power, then Moscow can resort to nuclear weapons. The decision to change Russia’s official nuclear doctrine is the Kremlin’s response to the recent New York Times report about US President Joe Biden’s green light for Ukraine to use US long-range weapons deep in Russian territory.
